Coalinga-Huron school trustees place superintendent on paid leave
The Coalinga-Huron Unified School District Board of Trustees has placed its superintendent on paid administrative leave, but won’t say why.
Board President Lisa Culbertson said Wednesday the vote was 4-1, but couldn’t go into detail about why Helen K. Foster was put on paid leave. Culbertson said Foster’s leave was effective immediately. Foster began as superintendent at the district in July of 2015. Lori Villanueva, the district’s assistant superintendent of educational services, was named the interim superintendent.
The vote was conducted in a closed session of a the trustee meeting and the decision was announced to the public afterward. Johny Albrecht, a board member, was the only trustee who voted against placing Foster on paid administrative leave. Trustees Francisco Chavez, Roger Campbell, Maria Zavala and Culbertson all voted in favor.
