Concord man loses car, shot in neck near Reedley

A Concord man who was found shot in Fresno County may have been the victim of a vehicle theft, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday, Julio Lozano, 33, was found lying on the side of the road at Lac Jac and Dinuba avenues west of Reedley with a gunshot wound to his neck.

Sheriff deputies didn’t know why Lozano was in Fresno County but suspect he may have been in Dinuba before the shooting.

Deputies also learned Lozano recently purchased a silver 2010 Audi, but deputies did not locate the vehicle with license plate number: 7TNU303.

The sheriff’s office is asking the public for help in locating the vehicle but warn that it might be being driven by armed and dangerous individuals.

Lozano underwent surgery at Community Regional Medical Center on Saturday and is expected to survive.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the sheriff’s dispatch center at 559-600-3111. The public can also call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
