Fresno police looking for suspect in Hungry Howie pizza robbery
Fresno police are looking for a man suspected of robbing Hungry Howie’s Pizza in east-central Fresno on Friday afternoon.
Officers were called to the restaurant on the northeast corner of Shields and Cedar avenues where a distraught clerk said she was alone in front of the business when the suspect entered the store, said police spokesman Joe Gomez.
The suspect removed a handgun from his waist and jumped on the front counter next to the cash register. He pointed a gun at the clerk’s head and demanded all of the money, Gomez said. The clerk opened the cash register and the suspect started grabbing money, then took the entire cash drawer with him as he walked out the door. The suspect took about $200 and drove northbound on Cedar Avenue.
He is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. The man was wearing a dark baseball cap, an aqua blue long-sleeved sweatshirt, dark jeans and tan work boots. He was armed with a small handgun and had a cloth covering his face.
The suspect vehicle appeared to be a black or dark blue four-door 2000 Honda Accord with a lighter-colored hood. It is missing a front license plate.
Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call Crimestoppers at 559-498-7867.
