Farmersville Mayor Gregorio “Greg” Gomez has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, police said Thursday.

About 8:50 p.m. Aug. 18, police responded to a disturbance call at a home in Farmersville.

Police arrested Gomez and booked him into the county jail. He was released the next day on $20,000 bail.

No charges have been filed. The Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday the case is under review.

Gomez, 44, is seeking re-election in November. He was first elected four years ago.

It is possible his position as mayor could be be yanked by fellow council members. Councilman Don Rowlett asked that an item to restructure the council be placed on the Sept. 12 agenda.

Gomez and his wife have four daughters. He is employed by Tulare County in the information and communications technology department, according to the city of Farmersville website.
