Fresno man faces two years in prison for counterfeiting money
A Fresno man was sentenced Monday to two years in federal prison for counterfeiting money, the Department of Justice announced.
Samuel Prieto Gonzales, 37, pleaded guilty May 2 to one count of counterfeiting $10, $50 and $100 bills in March 2014, and attempting to use those bills in Madera County, said acting U.S. Attorney Phillip Talbert.
Gonzales had previously fled from a drug treatment program while under pretrial supervision. He is currently in custody, Talbert said.
