Fresno County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting Saturday that injured a 20-year-old man in central Fresno.

Around 1:50 p.m., Sgt. Tom Grilione said, deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of East Weldon Avenue where a man was found with a non-lethal gun injury to his hand.

The man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center and was not able to provide details of the shooting, including suspect information, Grilione said.

Grilione said the shooting was possibly done by someone in a vehicle that apparently was traveling east on Weldon. Deputies canvassed the neighborhood and collected evidence Saturday.

Grilione said any possible witness would be interviewed. The victim would also be interviewed again once he recovers, he said.
