Man driving in southwest Fresno caught in middle of apparent gang shooting

A man driving in southwest Fresno was wounded Sunday evening when he was caught in the midst of an apparent gang shooting, police said.

The man told police he was driving his car near Clara and George avenues, near Jensen and Elm avenues, around 5:30 p.m. when a white sedan pulled up behind him and the occupants began shooting at three men standing near the intersection of Clara and George. One of the gunshots struck the man and his vehicle.

The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center were he was reported in stable condition. No other information was available about the victim or his assailants.
