Police looking for three suspects who robbed Fresno store

Police are looking for three suspects who stole cash and cigarettes after pulling a gun on a clerk at a southwest Fresno store.

Sgt. Sean Biggs said about 7 a.m. Sunday, a store clerk was opening his business at 2139 S. Elm Ave. when three men who appeared to be waiting to enter the store orchestrated the robbery.

Shortly after getting behind his counter, the clerk had a silver revolver gun pulled on him with demands to get on the ground from one man who entered the store, Biggs said.

The clerk complied and two more men later entered the store attempting to open the cash register. Biggs said the suspects failed but the clerk was forced to open it.

An unknown amount of money and cigarettes boxes were taken before the suspects fled the store. Biggs said the men fled west on Geneva Avenue.

The first suspect is described as a 45-year-old man, about 6 feet 2 inches tall wearing a silver-colored hoodie with a black baseball cap and black pants.

A second suspect is also described as a 45-year-old man, about 6 feet tall and weighing 220 to 240 pounds wearing black pants and sweatshirt with a white bandana.

The third suspect is a man about 5 feet 9 inches tall wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with black pants.

Briggs said anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Pat Mares at 559-621-2427 or Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7876.
