Man arrested after SWAT team responds to fake call in Sanger
A man was arrested for filing a false police report after allegedly calling police about an armed robbery at the Schoolhouse Restaurant and Tavern in Sanger on Monday evening, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were told that there were two people inside, armed with guns. Perimeters were set up, and the SWAT team was called in around 6 p.m. After using technological equipment to search the building and finding it empty, authorities deemed it to be a false alarm.
The man who called in the report was arrested for having a narcotics warrant, the Sheriff’s Office said, and he will also face charges for filing a false police report.
