Squaw Valley burglary suspects hurt after police chase ends in crash
Two women from Washington state were injured Monday as they tried to evade police after a bungled burglary attempt in Squaw Valley, Visalia police said.
Vanessa DeLacruz, 22, and Nneka Ford Langley, 23, were trying to burglarize a home on Fulgham Lane when a neighbor interrupted them, police said. The two women fled in a vehicle reported stolen out of Redding.
Police attempted to stop DeLacruz and Langley near Demaree Street and Ferguson Avenue in Visalia. The vehicle continued south on Demaree and collided with two other vehicles.
Police then pursued the vehicle to Highway 198 and Road 196, where the suspects’ vehicle collided with another car and overturned. Both suspects were thrown from the car.
DeLacruz and Langley were taken to local hospitals with moderate injuries. The other drivers involved suffered minor injuries.
Langley has an out of state warrant for her arrest.
