A Bulldog gang member was arrested Tuesday after police saw a large revolver in his waistband during a shooting investigation.

Detectives responded Tuesday to several reports of shooting in a central Fresno neighborhood near Arthur Avenue and Hedges Avenue, where they found three people walking in the street. Police said Anthony Soto, a 23-year-old Bulldog gang member, appeared extremely nervous. When asked if he had a gun, Soto raised his hands and repeatedly asked them to “Get the gun! Get the gun!”

The detectives took the gun from his waistband, along with 1 gram of methamphetamine and ammunition in his pocket. Soto is a convicted felon and is prohibited from having a firearm or ammunition, police said.

Soto’s friend, Bulldog gang member Henry Turpin, 29, was on parole and prohibited from associating with other gang members. Police searched Turpin’s car and found 16 grams of methamphetamine.

Both men were booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of possession of narcotics and a firearm. Police did not find any link between the men and the reported shooting.
