A Tulare County jury found an Allensworth woman guilty of second-degree murder along with numerous other counts on Monday in relation to a 2014 fatal hit-and-run that killed a 57-year-old man.

Otilia Pineda, 23, also was found guilty of driving while under the influence and causing great bodily injury, gross vehicular manslaughter, failure to perform legal duty following a collision and one count of being an unlicensed driver.

Pineda had a DUI conviction in 2012 when she caused great bodily injury to a victim and also had fled the scene in that case.

On Dec. 28, 2014, Pineda hit and killed a man on Highway 43 between Avenue 8 and Avenue 16. She fled, but police were later able to find her using personal identification left in the car.

Pineda faces 19 years to life in state prison. She will be sentenced on Sept. 12 in Porterville.
