Porterville woman pleads no contest to stabbing homeless man as he walked away

A Porterville woman pleaded no contest Wednesday to attempted murder in the stabbing of a homeless man as he tried to walk away from her, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said.

Amanda Keen, 22, approached the man on Dec. 15 on the bed of the Tule River in Porterville, accusing him of having an affair with her girlfriend. As the man attempted to walk away from Keen, she stabbed him in the back with a large knife, puncturing his kidney.

Keen’s sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 29. She faces 11 years in state prison.
