Hanford man identified as homicide victim in Huron

A homicide victim found Sunday lying in a Huron parking lot was identified Monday as David Lemus, 19, of Hanford.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Huron police were dispatched about midnight to report of a disturbance at 36700 S. Lassen Ave., but a second call led them to the man, who appeared to have gunshot injuries.

Lemus was transported to Coalinga Regional Medical Center but pronounced dead shortly after arriving there, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff’s detectives said Sunday that several people may have witnessed the crime.
