Four arrested after mugging at Visalia Walmart
Four people are in jail on armed robbery and conspiracy charges after a mugging at a Visalia Walmart, Visalia Police said.
The suspects, Jose Armando Ceja, 18, and three teenagers were arrested after robbing a victim at the Walmart on 1320 North Demaree Ave. about 3:50 p.m. Sunday.
Police say the victim of the robbery was at the Walmart to purchase a sale item seen online. When he arrived, police say Ceja and a 17-year-old suspect robbed him of his wallet, phone and cash.
Ceja hit the victim in the face and head with a weapon before fleeing with the other suspects in a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria, hitting a vehicle on their way out.
When a vehicle description was put out, the suspect vehicle was located in the 1800 block of North Giddings Ave. Three were immediately arrested and the fourth suspect, with a gun and the victim’s property, took officers on a foot chase.
All suspects were booked for the robbery charges, but Ceja carries an extra charge of assault with a deadly weapon and a 17-year-old was charged with resisting arrest.
