Woman arrested after dealership carjacking, pursuit in Visalia
A woman with three warrants out for her arrest was taken into custody after stealing a car from a Visalia dealership Friday afternoon, Visalia police said.
Just before 1 p.m., police said April Price, 42, was at Visalia Toyota on Ben Maddox Way when she allegedly jumped in the driver’s seat of the car a salesman was showing her and drove away. The salesman had been trying to climb into the passenger seat and was thrown from the vehicle, suffering abrasions.
Police spotted the vehicle near Caldwell and West Avenues and attempted to stop Price, but she instead led officers on a 20-minute pursuit through Visalia before entering Highway 99 South to Tulare.
Shortly after the California Highway Patrol was called in for assistance, the vehicle ran out of gas and stopped near Blackstone and La Mesa Avenues in Tulare, where Price was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, vehicle theft, felony evading and three outstanding arrest warrants.
