A Bulldog gang member was arrested on June 12 after attempting to hide a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in Fresno, police said.

Sgt. Chris Desmond said officers with the Southwest Violent Crime Impact Team were driving near Blackstone and Belmont avenues when they noticed a car driving south on Blackstone with its hazard lights flashing. After getting behind the car, they noticed the car’s registration was expired and pulled it over.

Desmond said the officers noticed that the passenger, 36-year-old Eric Ramos of Fresno, was acting nervous. When the driver opened the glove compartment to get his registration, Ramos kicked it closed.

Police took both men out of the car and found a loaded .38-caliber revolver in the glove compartment. The gun belonged to Ramos, who is on probation and prohibited from having a gun, Desmond said. He was arrested on multiple weapons charges and the probation violation. The driver was released.
