More than 3,700 marijuana plants were seized and a man was arrested after a search warrant was served at a home in Chowchilla on Thursday, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Madera County sheriff’s deputies and district attorney investigators served the warrant on the 19000 block of Avenue 23 on Thursday and found four firearms in the home and the plants in an outdoor cultivation site.

Valentin Lugo Galindo, who was arrested at the home, said the marijuana was being grown to sell to a dispensary in Merced, sheriff’s Cmdr. Bill Ward said.

Galindo was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales and possession of a firearm during the comission of a felony.
