Vandals paint upside-down crosses on Tower District church

Fresno police are investigating vandalism at St. Therese Catholic church in the Tower District after upside-down crosses were painted by the doorway and on a sidewalk.

Lt. Joe Gomez said that by the time officers arrived Thursday at the church in the 1400 block of Wishon Avenue, the crosses had already been painted over by the police department’s grafitti team. The vandalism took place late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Gomez said there are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
