Two gang members were arrested Friday night after leading Fresno police officers on a pursuit, crashing their car and hiding in a neighborhood in central Fresno, according to police.
Sgt. Brandi Phebus said that at around 11:50 p.m., Victor Orosco, 32, and Manuel Burciaga, 23, led officers on a short car chase from near West and Clinton avenues to the corner of Brooks Avenue and Esther Way where they crashed and ran into a backyard.
Police found a stolen rifle in the car, and with the help of a police dog, located Orosco and Burciaga in the neighborhood.
Both men are convicted felons and gang members, according to police. Orosco was out on bail from his recent arrest in April, and Burciaga was on felony probation for gun charges.
Phebus said the men were headed to Fresno County Jail after undergoing medical treatment at a hospital.
