This laid-back Fresno burglar wanted just one surprising thing

Police want help in tracking down a burglary suspect who lingered for several minutes in a northeast Fresno garage but stole just one thing – a remote-controlled toy car.

About 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, a resident at an apartment complex near Champlain and Perrin avenues came home and left the garage door open, police said. While the resident was inside the home, the suspect struck, calmly surveying the garage’s contents but choosing only the toy car.

The suspect drove a four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan, police said. His movements were seen on the resident’s security video system.

Anyone with information is asked to call police detective Danny Kim at 559-621-6409 or Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP. The case number is 16-36176.
