One of two men sought in a 2014 murder in Kings County is in custody, while sheriff’s detectives believe the second suspect is hiding in Mexico.
Jose Luis Ojeda was arrested Friday in Los Angeles by Kings County deputies in connection with the slaying of Noaris Maldonado-Candelario, whose body was found on March 21 in a cardboard box south of Corcoran. Maldonado-Candelario had been shot multiple times. Detectives believe Ojeda and Saul Deloa, both from the Los Angeles area, were involved in the slaying. Deloa is in Mexico and Kings County officials are working with authorities to bring him back for trial. Anyone with information is asked to call (559) 852-2804.
