Police investigate shooting in southwest Fresno
One person is recovering in the hospital after a shooting in southwest Fresno Saturday night, Lt. Joe Alvarez said.
Around 8:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of B and Kern streets after a silver-colored vehicle drove by and someone inside shot at a man as he walked through an alley, Alvarez said.
The victim was shot in the upper left shoulder and was reported in stable condition at Community Regional Medical Center. Alvarez said the motive is not clear but the shooting was not random and could possibly be gang-related.
“It was targeted,” Alvarez said.
Information was limited following the shooting, but Alvarez said several people witnessed the crime and an investigation is underway.
