Three men arrested after shots fired in east-central Fresno
Three men were arrested Wednesday morning after the Fresno Police Department received a call about shots being fired near Chestnut and Holland avenues in east-central Fresno, police said. The caller described the men and the vehicle they drove off in.
Around 10 a.m., officers and the Fresno Police Department helicopter located the three men driving near Highway 168 and Ashlan Avenue, and a chase ensued. The men drove to Sierra Vista and Church avenues in southwest Fresno before stopping.
The two passengers, Kerny Sengthavongsguk, 28, of Long Beach, and Frank Bolden, 34, of Fresno ran from the vehicle but were quickly captured. The driver, 25-year-old David Vann of Fresno, remained in the car and was found to have a .380 caliber revolver. The gun was loaded with five expended cartridges, which were believed to be the rounds that were fired, police said. Vann was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and evading police.
Both passengers were arrested for allegedly obstructing a police investigation.
