Fresno County coroner ID’s body found in orchard

A body found Sunday in an orchard east of Fresno was identified by the Fresno County Coroner Monday as Jose Luis Torres Lopez, 46, of Fresno.

Fresno County sheriff’s detectives are investigating the discovery as a possible homicide. Deputies received a call around 1:20 p.m. from the owner of the orchard, who discovered a man’s body as he drove along on the 2100 block of North Leonard Avenue.

When sheriff deputies arrived, they confirmed the man was dead, but weren’t sure how long the body had been there.
