Exeter man out, then back in trouble with the law
An Exeter gang member who was arrested May 15 in connection to a drive-by shooting where a 14-year-old girl was injured is off the hook in that case but now faces burglary charges, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department said.
The sheriff’s office spelled out what has been a busy month for 18-year-old Brendon Lee Martin:
- He was released with no charges filed in his alleged connection to the April 23 shooting, but was arrested May 20 on a warrant related to a Feb. 24 residential burglary in which several recreational vehicles were stolen on the 30600 block of Mehrten Drive near Lindcove.
- Martin was arrested May 9 when he was driving with possession of a sawed-off shotgun in the area of Highway 198 and Lomitas Drive in Lemon Cove. He was later released on bail, but then a tracking system revealed the shotgun had been stolen April 27 from a home in the 30300 block of Sierra Sunrise Drive in Exeter.
