Weapons seized from Fresno motel room that was home to 4 children
Fresno police booked a man on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment Wednesday night after a gun disturbance at a motel in the 4100 block of North Blackstone Avenue.
Sgt. Andre Benson identified the man as Nicolas Gongora, 21. Benson said officers arrived at the Red Roof Inn to find a man with facial injuries. The victim told officers that Gongora was the assailant and said that earlier Wednesday, Gongora pointed a handgun at his stomach. Gongora was not in his apartment, but inside officers found an assault rifle, a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver that the victim said was used by Gongora during the assault. There were also four children ranging from 3 to 13 in the apartment, who told officers that they were aware of the loaded firearms. By telephone, Gongora agreed to return to the motel, where he was taken into custody.
