A 21-year-old man was found shot in the jaw Wednesday morning in central Fresno, and police are now looking for an SUV that may be involved.
The shooting happened about 10:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of East Rialto Avenue, near Blackstone and Gettysburg avenues. Police found the man with a gunshot wound to his jaw area. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he was undergoing surgery for a critical injury.
Police Lt. Joe Gomez said the victim was in front of a home, near the sidewalk, when a shot was fired. A neighbor heard the shot and saw the victim on the sidewalk, and a small white SUV driving west on Rialto Avenue and then south on Effie Street.
Investigators are interested in speaking with the occupants of the SUV.
