Man wielding box cutter attacks Fresno store clerk
Police are searching for a man and woman after a convenience store worker was assaulted with a box cutter Tuesday morning in central Fresno.
Sgt. Michael Landon said the incident took place about 9 a.m. at a Circle K store in the 4200 block of North First Street. The pair got off a bus and went into the store, where the man reportedly put two snack items in his pocket. When a clerk asked the man to to return the items to a the shelf, the man pulled out the box cutter and tried to cut the clerk. A second clerk then pulled a handgun, which he legally possessed, and ordered the suspect out of the store. Before leaving, the suspect tried a second time to cut the employee. Both the man and the woman then walked south on First Street with a bicycle.
Anyone with information about the two is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
