Lindsay boy, 16, arrested in slaying of teen

A 16-year-old Lindsay boy was arrested Monday on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of another Lindsay teenager, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department said.

Deputies and Tulare County firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the area of 22400 Avenue 248 in Lindsay around 8:44 p.m. on May 7, the sheriff’s department said. They found a body outside of the vehicle after the fire was extinguished. Detectives later identified the victim as a 17-year-old boy from the Lindsay area. An autopsy determined the boy had been shot repeatedly in the head and chest.

Detectives identified a 16-year-old Lindsay boy as a suspect, the sheriff’s department said. Deputies found and arrested him on May 16. He was booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility.
