Police: Fresno man kidnapped girl, forced her into prostitution
A Fresno man was arrested last week after police say he kidnapped a 16-year-old girl, raped her and forced her into prostitution at a Watsonville motel.
The Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team, a multi-agency task force, arrested Marquis Keyon Bolden, 34, as he was standing in the parking lot of the motel on May 5. Lt. Greg Lansdowne said the team had received reports of prostitution and drug sales there.
Lansdowne said agents found the girl, around 3 ounces of methamphetamine and drug sale paraphernalia inside Bolden’s room. A Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office investigator interviewed the girl, who told authorities she had been taken against her will from Fresno County. She said Bolden had sexually assaulted her and was forcing her to perform sex acts for money.
Bolden was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on a variety of charges, including kidnapping, pimping, child abuse and rape. The girl was returned to her family.
