Police: Fresno robbery suspect followed victim from casino
Good Samaritan neighbors saved an 88-year-old man from a robbery in his garage, Fresno police reported.
Phillip Anthony Grijalva, 33, of Fresno was later arrested in connection with the crime, officer Pat Mares reported.
The incident occurred April 29 after the man returned from a casino. He believes the suspect followed him from the casino to his home.
The victim was confronted as he got out of his car and the suspect told him to turn over cash so that he would not be harmed. When the victim refused and began shouting for help, the neighbors came to his aid and the bandit fled.
Mares said the suspect was identified with help from the neighbors and the casino, which was able to establish that Grijalva was there at the same time as the victim. He was booked on charges of home invasion robbery.
