Neighbors applaud Fresno officers after arrest of gang member
Several local residents applauded Fresno police for their efforts in making the neighborhood safer after officers arrested a North Pleasant Bulldog gang member Monday night, police said.
Jonathan Guizar, 18, of Fresno, was in front of an apartment complex near Pleasant and Cortland avenues in central Fresno when patrol officers approached him around 7 p.m.
While officers were talking to Guizar, they noticed a small bag of a controlled substance on the ground next to his feet, police said. During a search, officers found a loaded 9 mm handgun in his pants.
Guizar is a North Pleasant Bulldog gang member.
Guizar was booked into the Fresno County Jail on weapons charges.
