Two people were arrested Sunday after police found them in a stolen car with methamphetamine, the Hanford Police Department said.

Officers were patrolling the area of Douty Street and Grangeville Boulevard at 6 p.m. when they spotted the stolen vehicle. Officers performed a traffic stop.

Fred Rhoades, 38, and Shanda Smith, 33, both of Visalia, were inside the vehicle.

Officers found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools inside the vehicle, police said. They also found a shaved ignition key that was being used to turn on the vehicle.

Additional evidence was found in the vehicle which led officers to believe the pair was selling the meth.

Smith had multiple warrants in Tulare County.

Both suspects were booked into the Kings County Jail.

The vehicle, which had been reported stolen in Visalia earlier that day, was returned to the owner.
