A Visalia man was convicted of 14 counts of child molestation Monday, including seven counts of having sex with a child 10 years old or younger, the Tulare County District Attorney said.

Michael Ornelas, 42, committed his crimes between March 15, 2011 and Jan. 3, 2015, the DA said.

His victim was a girl aged 7 to 10 at the time of the abuse.

His other crimes included three counts of oral copulation with a minor 10 years old or younger, three counts of lewd acts on a child and one count of forcible lewd acts on a child under 14. Each count is a felony.

Ornelas’ sentencing is scheduled for July 1, and he faces up to 242 years-to-life in state prison, the DA said.
