Man shot at east-central Fresno apartment complex
Fresno police are investigating the shooting of a 41-year-old Fresno man Friday morning in east-central Fresno.
The incident took place on Olive Avenue just west of Maple Avenue about 11:30 a.m.. The victim and his female friend told officers that they were at mailboxes in front of a small apartment complex when a “pop” was heard and the victim felt a bullet strike him in the upper thigh. The victim told officers that he did not see any shooter nearby and did not know the source of the gunfire.
Lt. Joe Gomez said no witnesses could be found who heard a gunshot and it is likely that the shooting happened at another location and the couple are not providing accurate information about the incident. The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for the wound. He is expected to survive.
