Boy, 13, arrested in Visalia school playground fire
One 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy were identified on Monday as those responsible for setting a playground on fire Sunday at Linwood Elementary School in Visalia, police said.
The 13-year-old was arrested and booked into juvenile hall, and the case was forwarded to the Tulare County District Attorney for review for charges against the 12-year-old, according to police.
A youth services officer from La Joya Middle School developed information leading to the arrest. The fire caused approximately $25,000 in damages, police said.
