Fresno police find loaded handgun after catching man urinating in public
One man was arrested in southwest Fresno early Saturday morning after an officer saw the man urinating on a tree outside the Family Express Mini Mart. When the officer searched the man’s minivan, he discovered a loaded handgun and drugs inside the vehicle.
Louis Amps was seen by an officer around 2:30 a.m. urinating in the parking lot of the Mini Mart where his white minivan was parked. When Amps saw the officer, he tried to drive off in his minivan but was blocked by the officer’s patrol car.
Amps began to walk away but stopped when the officer ordered him to. When the officer saw the handgun inside the vehicle, Amps took off again but was later detained.
He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on numerous felony charges, police said.
