One man shot in southeast Fresno, won’t assist investigation

One man who was shot Friday night in southeast Fresno isn’t providing any information about the shooting to investigators, the Fresno Police Department said.

Officers responded to 1823 S. Chance Ave. around 10:40 p.m. where they found one man with nonlethal gunshot wounds to his shoulder and hip. He wouldn’t provide police with any additional information, but was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The person who called police said that the victim had pointed to an apartment on the northwest corner of Chance and Hamilton avenues when asked where he had been shot.

Officers found shell casings in the alley north of the apartment complex, where a neighbor said that drinking and drug use were a regular occurrence. It is unknown if the victim lives in the apartment or was associated with anyone living there.
