Fresno man gets 30 years in child pornography case

A Fresno man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Tuesday after having been convicted of sending and receiving graphic images of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Shane Paul Young, 45, was convicted of the crime on Jan. 22.

According to the attorney’s office, federal investigators learned that Young sent and received hundreds of videos and images containing child pornography over the Internet with users across Europe and North America. What Young received and distributed was not only high in volume, but also included graphic images of infants and toddlers being sexually abused.

Both the nature of Young’s offense, and his significant prior criminal history factored into the sentence, the attorney’s office said.
