One man dead, another assaulted in central Fresno fight

One man was killed and another assaulted when a fight broke out at a residence in central Fresno on Monday night, said police Lt. Dave Ramos.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. near Thesta Street and Harvard Avenue. An unknown number of subjects drove to the residence on Harvard where they confronted the residents, Ramos said, and when an altercation broke out, one man was shot.

The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he died. The motive and suspects in the shooting were unknown Monday night, Ramos said, but one individual was detained.
