Visalia man arrives at hospital after being shot in head

A Visalia man arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound Wednesday evening after gunfire was heard in a Visalia neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded to the 3100 block of North Dinuba Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. after receiving a call about gunfire, Sgt. Damon Maurice said. Police learned that someone was shot at the location and taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center by private vehicle.

Additional officers responded to the hospital and found a male victim being treated for a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, Maurice said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Visalia Police Department at 559-734-8116.
