Police seized guns and drugs and arrested the mother of an infant during a bust Thursday morning at an apartment complex just west of Bulldog Stadium.

Sgt. Tim Tietjen said a Lao Blood gang member, his wife and a gang associate were taken into custody.

Tietjen said an undercover operation in the 1300 block of East Bulldog Lane that took place over several days captured video of traffic in and out of several apartments.

“It was almost like a drive-through,” said Tietjen.

Police armed with a search warrant found three handguns (one with a high-capacity magazine), a large amount of marijuana buds ready for sale in quart fruit jars, marijuana “honey oil” and the raw materials to make more honey oil. Honey oil is a concern because its manufacture requires the use of butane and several homes have exploded in Fresno recently while the drug was being made.

Arrested were Tommy Luayyarad, 23, identified as a gang member; his wife, Sophary San, 28; and Kitta Keophongsavan, 28. Police called Fresno County Child Protective Services to care for San’s young child.

Tietjen noted that the apartments are directly across from the building housing the Stone Soup children’s program. He said several neighbors thanked officers for shutting down the operation.
