Suspect demands bike in SE Fresno, stabs victim

A man was stabbed twice early Monday by an bandit who demanded his bicycle in southeast Fresno, police reported.

The crime occurred in front of a laundromat at Jensen and Maple Avenue about 8 a.m. Lt. Joe Gomez said the victim was confronted by the bandit, but refused to surrender his bike.

The suspect, a Hispanic man about 6 feet tall, stabbed him twice in the torso with a folding knife and fled. The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
