Ronnie Romans, 28, was arrested after taking a field sobriety test, police said. The checkpoint was near Visalia Parkway and Woodland Street from 8:45 p.m. to 2:45 a.m.

During the six-hour checkpoint, 73 vehicles were checked and six field sobriety tests were given, Visalia police said. There were also three citations for unlicensed driving, three citations for driving on a suspended license, 15 citations on other offenses and three vehicles towed.
