Man shot in southwest Fresno
One man was shot in the leg in southwest Fresno when a gunman opened fire on a group of people Monday at California Street and Pottle Avenue.
Lt. Joe Gomez said there may be more victims.
The shooting took place about 10:30 a.m. Gomez said the group was in front of a duplex across from a strip mall when the gunman emerged from a nearby alley and fired about 10 rounds, striking the victim in the leg.
The man ran about a block before collapsing at Pottle and Inyo Street, across from a Catholic church, where he was found by officers.
The gunman ran west on Mono Street. Police found shell casings in the alley. Gomez said officers are trying to determine if anyone else in the group was struck.
Pottle Avenue turns into Martin Luther King Boulevard south of California Street. The strip mall has been the scene of a number of gang-related shootings in recent years.
Police did not say whether the latest violence is gang-related.
