Man arrested in Tulare Walmart bomb threat

Police evacuated a Walmart store in Tulare after a bomb threat had been called in and one person is under arrest.

Using a bomb-sniffing dog supplied by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, police and deputies searched the store but found no explosive device.

About 7 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the Walmart on East Prosperity Avenue after getting a report about the bomb threat.

Christopher Hart, 27, of Corcoran, was identified as responsible for making the false bomb threat, police said. He was arrested without incident in the 300 block of South Pratt Street in Tulare.

To protect the investigation, police are not revealing how Hart was identified as the suspect.

Hart was booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of making a false bomb treat.
