Anonymous tip leads to three arrests for marijuana sales in southeast Fresno
Thanks to an anonymous tip to the Fresno Police Department, officers were able to apprehend three gang members suspected of selling marijuana in southeast Fresno on Thursday night.
According to the call that alerted police to the area, the three were sitting inside a parked car in front of a liquor store at Chestnut and Butler avenues around 8 p.m.
When officers approached the vehicle, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and arrested Dustin Hicks, 30, Desmond Oliver, 19, and Donald Monson, 21.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found packaging materials, money and a functioning digital scale consistent with marijuana sales. Officers also found a .38 caliber handgun that was stolen during a home invasion robbery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
All three were booked into the Fresno County Jail.
