Dinuba man identified as Orosi homicide victim

A Dinuba man was identified by detectives Monday as the victim of Saturday’s homicide in Orosi, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Brian Salazar, 19, of Dinuba, was shot in the area of Road 130 and Avenue 416 in Orosi around 3 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Tulare County Sheriff. Deputies arrived minutes later and found Salazar suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital but later died.

Witnesses saw a black Honda driving away from the area, the news release said.

An official cause of death won’t be announced until an autopsy is performed this week, according to the sheriff’s office.
