Two arrested, 1 sought in theft of guns from Fresno home

Two people were arrested in connection with the theft of multiple firearms west of Highway 99, and a third is sought, Fresno police reported. Taken into custody were Fernando Arciaga, 24, Ashley Serna, 23. Francisco Hernandez, 35, remains at large.

The burglary took place Friday morning near West Shields and North Blythe avenues. Police said a video monitoring system at the home recorded three suspects prying open a garage door and entering. They carved a hole into a wall between the garage and bedroom., where they pried open a locked security cabinet and stole one shotgun, two assault rifles and six handguns before fleeing in a car.

Saturday, detectives served a search warrant related to the burglary and arrested Arciga and Serna, who were booked on charges of conspiracy to commit burglary. Arciaga also faces weapons charges.

Five other suspects were arrested either on probation violations or outstanding warrants at the residence.
